繼續(xù)喜劇人Midge和身邊人們的故事。在20世紀(jì)50年代，25歲的紐約客米琪·麥瑟爾是個(gè)精明、陽光、充滿活力、可愛的猶太女子，她曾經(jīng)對自己的生活作出如下：上大學(xué)、結(jié)婚、生兩三個(gè)孩子，然后在優(yōu)雅的曼哈頓公寓中提供贖罪日晚餐。然而某天她的丈夫突然離開了她，毫無預(yù)警的她需要盡快想出她的新出路；對其他人來說，由家庭主婦變成上單口秀，顯然是個(gè)驚人的選擇，但對米琪而言卻并非如此。
